SANCOP (Sanitation Community of Practice) VI, April 2010
On 30th April 2010, BPD, IWA and WEDC brought together 30 participants from across the sector to consider the challenges of sanitation in fragile and conflict-affected states. The day began with presentations by representatives from DFID, WaterAid, Tearfund, LSHTM and Atkins, who reflected on their own extensive learning. The presentations provided stimulating material for later small group discussions on questions such as how sanitation can contribute to state building, relief versus development, politicizing sanitation and donor objectives. Please visit the link below for notes from the day's discussions.

BPD Lab: Community-Level Water Conflict, June 2009
During a two-day research meeting in London on 11-12th June, participants discussed theory and practice regarding community- level water conflict. One of several outcomes was a triangle framework for assessing the contradictions, behaviours, and attitudes to conflict, which was later used in the DPP course in Ghana at the end of June. The BPD Labs bring together a diverse set of stakeholders through a revolving virtual process of generating new ideas and refining BPD's problem-solving approaches.
